Memorial Day Weekend is undoubtedly a special time of remembrance that is celebrated across our nation, and Branson, MO celebrates in many ways throughout the city and nearby areas. While there are quite a few activities to choose among for Memorial Day Weekend 2012 in Branson, we want to feature two of the most popular, which take places just a short distance from Branson on the beautiful Table Rock Lake.
Why would we feature two activities outside of Branson for Memorial Day Weekend? One reason is because they are fantastic activities in gorgeous locations. The other reason is that Branson tends to get extremely crowded on Memorial Day Weekend and we want to show where you can escape the town for a bit and catch some incredible fireworks displays!
Chateau on the Lake Fireworks
Chateau on the Lake kicks off summer with their Memorial Day Weekend of BBQ, live music, and spectacular fireworks. Chateau on the Lake is constantly rated among the best places to stay in Branson and is definitely worth considering for a Memorial Day Weekend getaway with all they have going on!

Memorial Day Celebration at Big Cedar Lodge
Big Cedar Lodge, located on Table Rock Lake, has numerous activities taking place on Memorial Day Weekend. Beginning at noon on Sunday, May 27, on their Swimmin’ Hole Lawn they will feature fun games, attractions, contests, crafts, entertainment, pony rides and more. They will also offer a barbeque menu of incredible foods prepared by the Big Cedar Lodge CuÂlinary Team. Tickets and wristbands will be sold on location at their ticket booth. If the event gets rained out, it will be moved to Monday.
Also available at Big Cedar Lodge is a Sunset Fireworks Cruise on the Spirit of America Catamaran which will last from 7pm-9pm. The catamaran is a perfect place to watch the sunset and see the fireworks. This is available for $40/adult, $35/child (ages 3-12).
If you would rather stay on dry land to watch the fireworks, bring a blanket and sit on the lawn at Big Cedar Lodge for a great fireworks display to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend on May 27.
